The two Darwin days turned out to be a huge success

Tuesday, January 12th, 2010

Thursday and Friday last week the students from both Lower Secondary and Primary class worked together in finding out about Charles Darwin and his work. Their interdisciplinary work gave them the possiblility of making their own costumes and props in Arts, researching on the internet on Darwin´s travels and his theory on evolution, and examining animals in the Science laboratory.

They experienced the benefits and positive sides of working in groups older and younger students together. Friday afternoon they presented their final work showing both plays and power point presentations.

Luckily we had the opportunity of taking pictures of the presentations Friday afternoon.

Intensive reading course the next two weeks in Primary class

Friday, January 8th, 2010

The next two weeks we will carry out an intensive reading course in cooperation with Kolding Realskole. Every day in third lessons the fulltime students will read for 20 minutes. We have been to the library and borrowed books for the course. We will read both Danish and English books. At the end of the course the older students in the Primary class will do a book report on one of the chosen books.

Darwin days this week Thursday and Friday

Monday, January 4th, 2010

As the school was closed due to the bad weather before Christmas, we have decided to relocate our two Darwin days this coming Thursday and Friday.

We are looking forward to having two inspiring and significant days.
